Vegan with a Vengeance

Sorry for the scant posting lately, school and work have got my schedule packed. And to make matters worse (Or better, depending on how you look at it) patch 4.0 for World of Warcraft came out yesterday!
Many of the changes they had been talking about since BlizzCon last year are finally being put into place. I am SO EXCITED. The expansion, Cataclysm, is also set to come out in December. Wooo :)

Now on to the good stuff. I have recently delved right into my new cookbook, Vegan with a Vengeance by Isa Chandra Moskowitz.I made Pumpkin Pancakes (waffle recipe) and Orange Glazed Scones.

I really liked the pancakes, which was surprising. I have never liked pancakes before. They were always my least favorite Sunday breakfast food. I think it has something to do with how you eat one and you feel like you've consumed 50 sponges that are just puffing up in your tummy. Also, the recipe makes about a bajillion pancakes, so I've got breakfast for quite some time ;)

The scones were an interesting story.
I have never made or really seen a scone before, so I was not sure at all how they were supposed to turn out looking (do they look okay?).
My mom said they looked fine, and we BOTH thought they were pretty delicious :)
They make an excellent school snack because they really fill you up. In the picture above, I had taken some leftover orange glaze and drizzled it over my pumpkin pancakes. YUM!

For those of you who are wondering, I did go to the picnic, and I brought chili stuff and fizzl'd fruits skittles (my new favorite)! It consisted of beans, diced tomatoes, veggie broth and carrots. It was alright.

Ever had a scone? How was it? :)

  1. They look good! I don't know if I've ever had a scone. I mean, I think I have, but there is not one that I can recall in my mind.
